Message miles, let me tell you:

The Supra shortblock is built better. But the short blocks are being blown all the time because of tuning, not because the shortblock cannot hold.
My car has 172000 mile son a stock short block. It has had the t88h for about 1500 miles, considering about 25 dyno pulls at 29psi ( yes, 29!!!). With that huge turbo, the engine is putting out around or over 1000 HP. O a stock short block with 172 K miles.
The head got a new valve seals, and we put a new stock gasket. That is it.
Also, I have had 8 passes on the track with that 29 psi.

I have not heard of any other engine holding up that good.
